Re: Proposed Downtown Auburn Outdoor Sculpture Gallery -Potential Locations
At the May 24, 2011 Downtown Redevelopment Committee meeting, staff introduced a series of
projects that could be implemented with the remaining Local Revitalization Funds (LRF) balance
that is not committed to other projects. The Committee concurred with the project list and
requested that a public art project be included.
The City Council has previously indicated the desire to have a rotating sculpture gallery within the
Downtown. Staff is proposing to develop an outdoor sculpture gallery that will have rotating
sculpture pieces. Attached is a map showing the proposed locations for the sculpture pedestals.
At the July 12, 2011 Committee meeting, staff will be looking for the Committee's concurrence
with the proposed locations.
