A PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING SHALL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO ANY ON -SITE WORK FOR ALL PUBLIC FACILITY EXTENSION PROJECTS. 5. LOCATIONS SHOWN FOR EXISTING UTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE. POWER, CABLE AND TELEPHONE LINES SHALL BE IN A TRENCH WITH A MINIMUM HORIZONTAL SEPARATION FROM OTHER UTILITIES (SEWER, WATER, STORM) OF THE FIVE FEET (5'). 14. ALL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING FOR EXTENSION OF PUBLIC FACILITIES SHALL BE DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A WASHINGTON LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR OR A WASHINGTON LICENSED PROFESSIONAL CIVIL ENGINEER. 15. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO WATER THE SITE, AS NECESSARY, TO REDUCE EMISSIONS AS A RESULT OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY. RAISED PAVEMENT MARKINGS ARE PREFERRED FOR ARTERIAL STREET CHANNELIZATION. PAINT WILL BE ACCEPTABLE FOR NON -ARTERIAL CHANNELIZATION. A 4-INCH-WIDE WHITE STRIPE IS PERMITTED FOR FOGLINES IN ALL CASES. B.) - ALL PAVEMENT MARKINGS MUST BE LAID OUT WITH SPRAY PAINT AND APPROVED BY THE CITY ENGINEER PRIOR TO PERMANENT INSTALLATION. APPROVAL MAY REQUIRE A THREE WORKING DAY ADVANCE NOTICE TO HAVE FIELD LAY -OUT APPROVED BY THE CITY ENGINEER OR TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO MEET THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER ON SITE DURING INSTALLATION. 2.) CROSSWALK: ALL CROSSWALKS SHALL BE A PIANO KEY OR LONGITUDINAL BARS CONSISTING OF WHITE THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. THE POSITION OF THE CROSS BARS SHOULD BE SPACED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO ALLOW MAJORITY WHEEL TRAFFIC TO PASS IN THE UNPAINTED SPACE. SEE STANDARD DETAILS TRLM-3. 3.) SIGNING: CITY OF AUBURN USES 1998 "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES " (MUTCD) WITH REVISIONS AS A GUILDELINE FOR SIGNING EXCEPT AS MODIFIED. 4.) THE BUILDER OR DEVELOPER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING AND INSTALLING ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO STREET NAME SIGNS, REGULATORY SIGNS (INCLUDING STOP AND NO PARKING), WARNING SIGNS, BARRICADES AND BICYCLE11PEDESTRIAN SIGNS AS REQUIRED. (SEE DETAILS TRSP-1 AND TRSP-2.) 5.) CONSTRUCTION AREA TRAFFIC CONTROL: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN ALL SIGNS, BARRIERS, WARNING LIGHTS, STRIPING, AND FLAG CONTROL REQUIRED FOR MAINTAINING PUBLIC SAFETY IN CONSTRUCTION AREAS. TRAFFIC CONTROL SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES WHEN CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS ON ALL STREETS, AND ACCESS POINTS IN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. NO CONSTRUCTION AREA TRAFFIC CONTROL ACTIVITIES WILL BE PERMITTED WITHOUT AN APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN. PLANS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE CITY OF AUBURN FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. 6.) BARRICADES. TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT BARRICADES SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 6C-8 OF THE MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCO) AND STANDARD DETAIL STBL-1. 7.y. TYPE III BARRICADES MAY EXTEND COMPLETELY ACROSS THE STREET (AS A FENCE). WHERE PROVISION MUST BE MADE FOR ACCESS OF EQUIPMENT AND AUTHORIZED VEHICLES, THE TYPE III BARRICADES MAY BE PROVIDED WITH MOVEABLE SECTIONS THAT CAN BE CLOSED WHEN WORK IS NOT IN PROGRESS, OR WITH INDIRECT OPENINGS THAT WILL DISCOURAGE PUBLIC ENTRY.
