2. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THESE DRAWINGS AND THE RULES AND
REGULATIONS OF THE "WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

7. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND STREET MAINTENANCE FOR SAFETY OF THE TRAVELING PUBLIC

METHODS AND EQUIPMENT USED WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN. CONTRACTORS AND THEIR SURETY SHALL BE LIABLE FOR INJURIES AND
DAMAGES TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY SUFFERED BECAUSE OF CONTRACTORS
OPERATIONS OR NEGLIGENCE CONNECTED WITH THEM.
8. DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REQUIRED TO CONTROL ON -
SITE STORM WATER RUNOFF BY USING TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT DRAINAGE
EROSION/SILTATION CONTROL PROCEDURES.
9. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO DETERMINE THE TRUE
ELEVATIONS AND LOCATIONS OF ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES.
10. EXISTING PAVEMENT SURFACES SHALL BE SAW CUT FULL DEPTH WITH STRAIGHT,
UNIFORM EDGES 12 INCHES (12") OUT FROM THE EDGE OF EXCAVATION, ALL
JOINTS BETWEEN THE NEW AND ORIGINAL PAVEMENT SHALL BE PAINTED WITH
ASPHALT EMULSION (CSS-1).
11. TIME LIMIT RESTRICTIONS�yITHIN EXISTING RIGHTS -OF -WAY WILL BE APPLICABLE
AND DETERMINED AT THE PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL, REPLACE, OR RELOCATE ALL SIGNS, AS SHOWN ON
THE PLANS OR AS AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION, PER THE CI TY'S STANDARD DETAIL
NO. TRSP-1.
13. POWER, CABLE AND TELEPHONE LINES SHALL BE IN A TRENCH WITH A AM?NIUM
HORIZONTAL SEPARATION FROM OTHER UTILITIES (SEWER, WATER, STORM) OF
FIVE FEET (5').
14. ALL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING FOR EXTENSIONS OF PUBLIC FACILITIES SHALL DE
DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A WASHINGTON LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR OR A

15. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO WATER THE SITE, AS NECESSARY, TO REDUCE
EMISSIONS AS A RESULT OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO
SWEEP ALL AFFECTED PUBLIC ROADS, AS NECESSARY, TO REMOVE MUD DEPOSITED AS
A RESULT OF PROJECT CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY.
16. CERTIFIED DRAWINGS ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO PROJECT ACCEPTANCE. REFER TO THE
CI TY'S "RECORD CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS" REQUIREMENT.
17. FOR MANHOLE AND CATCH BASIN RIM ADJUSTMENT, MAXIMUM ADJUSTMENT WITH
BRICK OF RIMS AND CASTINGS SHALL BE 14 INCHES (14") WITHOUT ADDING NEW
SECTIONS.
18. ALL MANHOLES, CATCH BASINS, AND VALVES IN PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF WAY OR
EASEMENTS SHALL BE ADJUSTED AFTER ASPHALT PAVING, AND CONFORM TO THE
CI TY'S STANDARD ADJUSTMENT DETAIL NO. STFG-1. ALL UTILITY CASTINGS
OUTSIDE OF PAVED AREAS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH A CONCRETE COLLAR

GRADING AND EROSION CONTROL NOTES
1. WITHIN THE CITY OF AUBURN, ALL REQUIRED RETENTION OR DETENTION,
SEDIMENTATION AND EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES MUST BE CONSTRUCTED AND
IN OPERATION, PRIOR TO LAND CLEARING AND/OR OTHER CONSTRUCTION
ACTIVITIES, TO INSURE THAT SEDIMENT -LADEN WATER AND STORM DRAINAGE
RUNOFF DOES NOT IMPACT THE ADJACENT PROPERTIES OR THE NATURAL
DRAINAGE WAYS.
2. THE DETENTION, SEDIMENTATION (RETENTION IF INFILTRATION SYSTEM IS USED)
AND EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES DEPICTED ON THE APPROVED DRAWINGS ARE
INTENDED TO BE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO MEET ANTICIPATED SITE CONDITIONS.
ADDITIONAL DRAINAGE AND EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES MAY BE REQUIRED AS

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ANY NECESSARY STORM LINE CONNECTION PERMITS
FROM THE CITY OF AUBURN PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION,
2. ALL STORM DRAINS WITHIN THE DEVELOPMENT SHALL HAVE STENCILED "DUMP NO
WASTE - DRAINS TO "EITHER" STREAMS, "WETLANDS," OR "GROUNDWATER" AS
APPLICABLE.
SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. THE LOCATION OF THE SIDE SEWERS SHALL BE MARKED AT THE END OF THE LINE
INSIDE PROPERTY BY A PRESSURE TREATED 2 X 4, FOUR FEET (4") LONG BURIED IN
THE GROUND A DISTANCE OF THREE FEET (3'). THE LOWER END SHALL HAVE A 2 X 4
CLEAT NAILED TO IT TO PREVENT WITHDRAWAL OF THE STAKE. THE EXPOSED ONE
FOOT (1) SHALL BE PAINTED TRAFFIC YELLOW AND THE DEPTH TO THE SIDE SEWER
OR TEE SHALL BE INDICATED IN BLACK PAINT ON THE 2 X 4.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ANY NECESSARY SIDE SEWER CONNECTION PERMITS FROM
THE CITY OF AUBURN PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
11. ALL WATER MAINS SHALL HAVE A BLOW -OFF ASSEMBLY AT LOW POINT AND AN AIR
VACUUM RELIEF VALVE AT HIGH POINT OF MAIN. SEE STANDARD DETAILS WAAR-1
AND WABO-1.
12. THE FIRE HYDRANT ASSEMBLIES SHALL CONFORM TO STANDARD DETAIL WAFH-1
AND SHALL STAND PLUMB. SET TO FINISHED GRADE WITH THE LOWEST OUTLET
BEING NO LESS THAN 18 INCHES (18") FROM FINISHED GRADE AND A CLEAR
ZONE AROUND HYDRANT OF NO LESS THAN 36 INCHES (36'). THE PUMPER
PORT SHALL FACE STREET OR FIRE ACCESS.
13. ALL VALVE BOXES IN PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF WAY OR EASEMENTS SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO

14. BACK FLOW DEVICES REQUIRED WITH FIRE PROTECTION AND IRRIGATION

15. THE UNDERGROUND FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE FIRE

CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1. ARRANGE AND ATTEND PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH THE CITY OF AUBURN.
2. ESTABLISH AND SUBMIT PROPOSED HAUL ROUTE TO THE CITY.
3. FLAG LIMITS OF CLEARING AND GRADING.
4. CONSTRUCT TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE.
5. INSTALL PERIMETER SILT FENCING. REMOVE ALL TREES WITHIN THE LIMITS OF
CLEARING.
6. ROUGH GRADE SITE. ENSURE THAT ALL AREAS OF ACTIVE EARTHWORK ARE CONTAINED
TO PREVENT UNCONTROLLED DISCHARGE OF STORM DRAINAGE.
7. COVER ALL AREAS THAT WILL BE UNWORKED FOR MORE THAN 7 DAYS DURING THE
DRY SEASON AND 2 DAYS DURING THE WET SEASON WITH STRAW, WOOD FIBER MULCH,
COMPOST, PLASTIC SHEETING, OR EQUIVALENT.
8. HYDROSEED OR SOD ANY AREAS TO REMAIN UNWORKED FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS.
