I. Call to OMer,Approval of Minutes, Introductions and Approval of Minutes: Chair
Patricia Judd called the meeting to order a4 4:35 pm. Due to c.ommissioner delayed arrival the
agenda will be rearranged to tienefit from quorum attendance.
Maija McKnight introduced guests Charlie Rathbun from 4Culture and Patricia Cosgrove,
Director of the White River Valley Museum.
II. PCDC Council Annual Presentation Review
Planning and Community Development Council Committee
Staff provided a copy of the preserrtation that would be sharetl with PCDC on Monday,
November 14, 2011: The presentation was discussed and recommendations and suggestions
provided by commissioners.
III. 4Culture:;Site Specific Opportunities and Collaboration
Charlie Rathbun pro�ided an overvievr of 4he 4Culture, Site Specific program (forme�ly the King
County Perfortnance'Network) and discussed two projects specific to the Aubum area. Neely
Mansion and Mary Oison Fartn in partnership with 4Culture,has disfributed,a call for proposals
to adivate the site and educate the public a6out its history. VUhite River Valley Museum
Director, Patricia Cosgrove shared information about the farm and the educational programs
and goals of the farm:
IV: Nomination of�ce Chair
Patricia Judd called for nominations for the Vice Chairposition. Debby Deal nominated Ronie
Schwend to serve as the Vice Chair in 2012, who will then assume the role of Chair in 2013. No
additional nominations were made. Official voting will occur at the December Arts Commissiori
meeting.
V. Sister Cities Representative Rep'oR
Linda Elliott provided an overview of the recent trip with Mayor Lewis and various City of
Aubum representatives. Aubum has a 40+year Sister City relationship with the city ofi
Tamba, Japan, which is shared with Kent, Washington. Aubum is also signed a Letter
of Intent to form a Sister City relationship with the city of'Pyeongchang, Korea, who will
be proud hosts of the 2018 Winter Olympics. The Aub.um WA Sister Cities Association
is an independerrt, nonprofit organization under the direction of a Board of Directors with
representation from the City of Au6um, Aubum Area Cham6er of Commerce, Aubum
School:'District, Green River Community College and each established Sister City
Committee. Linda Elliott has served as the Arts Commission represenfative for the past
years, but as her term on the Arts Gommission has expired this vacancy is needing to
be filled. Linda Elliott nominated Greg Watson to serve on the Sister City Committee as
the Arts Commission representative. Nomination aaaroved..
VI. Approval of Minutes
Debby Deal moved for the approval of the September 2011 minutes. Linda Elliott seconded the
motion. Motion oassed. Linda Elliott moved for the approdal of the Odober 2011 minutes.
Ronie seconded the motion. Motion oassed.
VII.Updates/Upcoming Events
A written.summary of recent and upcoming events was distributed.
The Uecem6er meeting will take plaoe at the home of Ronie Schwend, 29821 108th Ave SE,
Aubum WA 98092. .
