A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, TO PROVIDE
AN ADDRESS CHANGE FOR 33 RESIDENCES, 3
COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, 9 INDUSTRIAL
BUILDINGS, 10 DUPLEXES, AND 8 FOURPLEXES
WHEREAS, Auburn City Code (ACC) Chapters 12.52 and 15.52
concerning the naming of streets and the assignment of specific building
addresses provides authority to the Building Official to develop and administer
the City's Addressing Policies; and
WHEREAS, those policies are intended to create a uniform system for
assigning addresses to buildings within the City; and
WHEREAS, ACC section 15.52.055 provides that petitions for address
changes may be initiated by a City department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn Building Division has identified addresses
in error and in use; and
WHEREAS, the public safety representatives of the City's address
committee are in concurrence with the Building Official that the petitioner's
request will not inhibit public safety; and
WHEREAS, the City Code provides that such requests are decided by the
Auburn City Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE as follows:

Section 1. Buildinq Address Assiqnments. The building numbers listed
below in table 1 shall be eliminated and the buildings assigned those numbers
shall be assigned the corresponding numbers listed in table 2, and those
numbers shall meet the requirements of Auburn City Code chapter 15.52 and all
current and future determinations of the building official regarding each building's
number.

Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby
authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary
to carry out the direction(s) of this Resolution.
Section 3. Implementation Strateaies. The Mayor or designee (s) shall
implementation the following strategies to help reduce impacts to affected
properties including:
a. Written Notice to Affected Propertv Owners: Upon adoption of the
Resolution, written notification to all affected property owners will be
conducted to provide owners with information on the effective date for their
address change, instructions that they will need to make necessary
adjustments to billing accounts, letterhead, checkbooks, etc and contact
information for questions or information.
b. Written Notice to Other Aqencies and Companies: Upon adoption of the
Ordinance, written notification of the address changes will be conducted to all
pertinent governmental agencies such as the County Assessor Departments,
the U.S. Postal Service, City Departments, Valley Regional Fire Authority,
Puget Sound Energy, School Districts, Utility Districts, telecommunication
providers, mapping companies, solid waste disposal purveyors, etc.
c. Field Verification: In the final ninety (90) days of the one (1) year period
before the Resolution shall take effect, a field survey will be conducted by City
staff in order to determine which addresses have been updated and which
have not. Where it is determined that the numbers have not been updated,
City staff will provide a written reminder to the responsible property owner (s)
to remind them of the need to update their address and will offer information
and assistance to affected property owners as needed or requested.
Section 4. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full
force one (1) yearfollowing passage and signatures hereon.
