➢ Trash/Recycling
o Trash should be put into bags within barrels on the curb for a maximum of 24hrs.to

if it does not have a number then it is not recyclable) is piciced up the same day as

o Bulk trash can be put out on the curb only during the months of October and April

lntroduction
University housfng is one of the many learning experiences you will enjoy at Quinnipiaa Universfty

these options provides an opportunity to interact with students from a wide variety of gaogrephical

housing is a priyilege;not a right. Resident students are subject to the cond�fonsset forth fn the housing I

Living:
Part III: Prohibited Conduct
A student who is found responsible for engaging in conduct that violates this
Code on any Connecticut State University campus or on property controlled 6y the
University or byany University affiliafe shall be subject to the sanc4ions described in this
Code. Students who attempt to engage in conduct thaY violates this Code, who knoVuingly
encourage, aid or assist another person in engaging in such conduct, or who agree with.another
person, explicitly or otherwise, to engage in such conduct,may afso be subject to disciplinary
acGon. Off-campus misconduct may be subject to the jurisdiction of the University and addressed
through its judicial procedures if one of the following cond'itions is met (i)a studerit engages in
prohibited conduct at an official University event, at a University-sanctioned everrt, or at an everrt
sponsored by a recognized sfudent organization; or(ii)a sfuderrt engages in prqhibited conduct
under such circumstances thatreasonable grounds exist for believing that the accused student
poses a threat to the I'rfe, health or safety of any member of the Universlty community or to the

property of the University. The decision to extend the Universitys jurisdiction to off-campus

EXTRACT FROM HAMDEN, CT CODE OF ORDINANCES: (dO1SE
101.02 CLASSIFICATION OF NOISE ZONES AND DISTRICTS
(A) No(se zone classifications. Noise zone classifications shall be based on the designated
use of any parcel ortract, based on the zoning district in which a parcaf islocated as described
on the Zoning Map and in the Zoning Regulations of the town as amended from time to time;
provided that any parcel whose use is lawfully nonconforming to its district at the time this
chapter is enacted sfiall be classified for noise emission purposes ac,cording to the dist�ict
appropriate for the nonconforming use. The current designation shall be the determining factor,
and any change in the zon'ing map or zoning regulafions will also represent a change In the
Noise Distrlct.
(B) Nolse Districts.
(1) Residential Noise District Lands or noise zones contained within residential districts
by the Planning and Zoning Regulations of the town shall be designated as Residentia[Noisa
Dls4ricts, and shall 6e subject to the noise standards prescribed therefore or defined by this
chapter.
101.03 NOISE STANDARDS
(4) (a} No person in a residerrrrtial noise district shall emit noise exceeding the levefs

101.08 ENFORCEMENT
The Hamden Police Departrnent shall be responsible for enforcement of the provisions of this
chapter.All notices and fines required or permitted by this chapter shall emanate from the Police
Department. Fines shall be paid to the Department of Police Services.

101.99 PENALTY
Any person In violation of any section of anyprovision of this chapter may be fined in an
amount,not to exceed $100 per violation. Each day a viofation continues after the time inr
correction of the violation has been given In an order sHaif constitute a continuing violaUon, and
the amount of the flne shall be doubled for each day said violatfon continues,said fine not to
exceed $400 dollars per day.

670.2 Non-Owner-Occupied One-, Two- and Three-Dwelling-Unit Buildings
All student housing located in a one-, two-, or three-dwelling-unit building that is not occupied by the
building owner shall meet the following requirementx
a. Building Official approval for current building-code compllance,
b. Heaith Offiaal approvai for current housing-code comp[iance;
c. Ffre Marshali app�oval for"fire safe�de compfiance
d. No exterlor changes to existing buildings unless required for compliance with building, housing or
8re code;.
e. The demonstrated provision for off-street parking at one space per student, wlth at least two
spaces perdwelling unit having unimpeded access;
f: No parking in any required front yard, or side yard that is unpaved as ofNovember 14, 2006;
g. Parking is prohiblted within 10 feet of the rear yard line;
h. Ttie landlord shall be responsibie for providing trash receptacles and recyclable bins and posting
instructions regarding Town of Hamden pick-up schedules;
i. Submission of floor plans and,thereafter, any proposed modifications thereto;
J. IniUal and renewal registraUon of sfudent rental housing providing 24-hour contact person in
Connecticut to resolve complaints;
k. Compliance with follow3ng density: A maximum of 4 students psr dwelling unit, provided
compliance w(th housing code for minimum square footage;
I. A Zoning Permit must tie obtained;
m. The Zoning Permit will automatically renew each year upon submission of registration,
provided that the ZEO has not made a finding of non-compliance with the proVisions of this
section.A renewal registrafion form and fee mustbe recsived by August 1 st of each year.
