II. Downtown Sculpture Gallery — 2014 People's Choice Award

People's Choice Award. The artwork Watch My Tail, by artist Patricia Vader had the most people's choice
votes with 94 votes out of the total 160 votes cast. Moved by Commission Westergard to purchase Watch
My Tail. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion. All approved. Motion approved.
The permanent location for the "people's choice" artwork Watch My Tail was discussed. As the art depicts
a cat, a site adjacent to the Auburn Valley Humane Society on A Street was recommended. Staff noted
that this location was passed by the Auburn Valley Humane Society and received overwhelming support.
The Commission was in full support of siting the artwork in that location. Moved by Commission Schwend
to site Watch My Tail outside the Auburn Valley Humane Society. Commissioner Gollnick seconded the
motion. All approved. Motion approved.
The commission reviewed the recommended placement of the 2014 -2015 Outdoor Sculpture Gallery art

The Commission discussed methods for selecting future Outdoor Sculpture Gallery pieces, and
suggested a similar method as to the one that is used when selecting the Visual Art Galley pieces. Staff

that could potential aid in the review of future artwork submissions. The Commission also discussed
potential modifications to the People's Choice voting criteria for the 2014 -2015 Outdoor Sculpture Gallery
