Vice Chair Watson called for nominations for the Vice Chair position for 2015. Staff
McKnight noted that Greg Watson would step into the Chair position and this nomination
would be Chair in 2016. Dan Norman nominated Denae McGee for the position of Vice
Chair in 2015. No other nominations were brought forward. The final vote will occur at
the December meeting that will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

Staff McKnight handed out a list of all the Arts Commissioners with term appointment
dates and expirations listed. At the end of this calendar year no members terms are
expiring, but one member Feney Perez will be resigning from the commission. The
commission will have one vacant position (out of 12 total positions) that will be filled by
the Mayor's office in 2015. Staff noted that she would email the application package to
all commissioners and interested individuals should submit the information through the
Mayor's office.
III. 2015 Gallery Selection
Visual Art Committee members Donna Smart, Laura Westergard and Ronie Schwend
provided an overview of the gallery selections for 2015. The application was distributed
and managed through the Cafe: Call for Entry.org online service, and we received a
great many impressive applications. All commissioners were invited to access the site to
view the applications and the top 30 applicants were reviewed and discussed by the
Visual Arts Committee. Representative images were shared and a tentative schedule
forwarded for review. Staff will be working over the next month to confirm and create the
variety of publication information to support the gallery program.
IV. Regranting for 2015
Staff McKnight noted that the 4Culture Local Arts Agency Sustained Support Grant was
submitted, and in the past have used the funding received to be able to regrant to
smaller organizations and projects within the Auburn Community. The process was
discussed as well as a potential to change the deadline from one to a rolling deadline.
Discussion continued. The regranting of these funds is entirely dependent upon the
receipt of funding from 4Culture.
