I. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Sydney Campbell called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. in Conference
Room 3 at Auburn Oty Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn.
Junior Oty Councilmembers present: Vice Chair Sydney Campbell, Tyler Cushing and
Mary Riel. Chair Cole Lindell, Brandon Berend and Dalton Hands were excused.
Staff members present: Deputy Mayor John Holman and Council Assistant Antoinette
Manthey.

A. Impact Youth Make on a Society
Deputy Mayor Holman gave a PowerPoint presentation displaying events from
the Civil Rights Movement. Some events he shared were the Freedom Riders in
1961, the Children's March in 1963 and the "St-In" in 1960. Al of these events
and protests were held by youth and young adults and led to the Civil Rights
Act of 1964. Deputy Mayor Holman tied the Civil Rights Movement with the
Junior Council bullying campaign to prove that the youth can make an impact
on society.
Deputy Mayor Holman encouraged the Junior Council to form a mission
statement for their bullying campaign to share at the next meeting.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Junior Oty Council, the meeting
adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
