Dore provided a status report on the Teen/Community Center
Architectural Design. The last update was provided to the
Committee November 4, 2014.
A PowerPoint presentation was provided to the Committee to
discuss how to achieve success for the project; the over arching
goals; the background of the project; the LEED timeline and
checklist; and the next steps. The Committee provided feedback as
follows:
1. The Committee would like to continue to discuss cultural
diversity and how to bring elements of it into the project.

the Committee determined they want to continue to look at a pet
friendly aspect as part of the architectural process going forward.
5. After discussing the ROM, (Rough Order of Magnitude) the
Committee and staff continued to express the desire to keep the
project within the budget that has been set by City Council.
6. The Committee stated that they would like, at a future update,
the team to address and provide an explanation on designing the
building as a one or two story building. Mr. Podoll stated that this
would be included in a future phase report.
7. Staff will provide a summary of this update to the Council to
keep them updated as to the status of the project design phase.
B. Les Gove Campus Master Plan (Faber)
Review the draft Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for the Les Gove
Campus Master Plan
Parks, Arts and Recreation Director Daryl Faber explained that an
RFQ (Request for Qualifications) has been prepared to solicit
responses from experienced consultants to vision and master
plan an area of the City of Auburn located between Auburn Way
South to West, "M" Street to the East, 12th Street to the South and

5th Street to the North.
The central focus of the study will be the 22 acre park and the
surrounding properties; it would also include downtown connectivity
To achieve better analysis for recommendations, tools and
strategies the City/Consultant will engage a number of the public
and key shareholders to gain knowledge, shape the vision, and build
support for the project. There will be on -site works sessions of
campus stakeholders, Councilmembers, staff, and City businesses.
The Committee and staff discussed the goals of the RFQ and asked
about economic development in the sub areas around the
park. Director Snyder explained that staff intends to hold future
discussions for the economic plan and uses of the sub -area plan
area around the Les Gove Park Campus.
The Committee expressed that they want to make sure to include
Grace Community Church representatives, Auburn Youth
Resources, King County Housing Authority, and representatives of
the Auburn King County Library as key stakeholders to be included
in the discussions.
The Committee and staff determined that they would like to have the
final draft master plan by the end of April.
C. Action Tracking Matrix (Wagner)
Chair Wagner reviewed the Action Tracking Matrix and staff
determined the meeting scheduled for later this month would be
cancelled. The Committee will not be going forward in January due
to the change over to the Council Study Sessions.
The Committee determined that upon moving forward to the Council
Study Sessions they would like to make the following changes to the
Action Tracking Matrix:
1. Item C -Remove
2. Item D - Under Status, 'Review emergency call towers" (other
security items will be covered under the master plan.
3. Items C, F, G, & I - Remove
IV. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the
meeting was adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
