amount of the cost and expense thereof to be borne by each lot, tract and parcel
of land or other property.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That "0" Street S.E. between 29th & 30th Street S.E., inside
the corporate limits of the City of Auburn, be improved by the construction and
installation of curb:and gutter, excavation, ballasting, storm drainage, asphalt
concrete surfacing, 8-inch cast iron water main and fire hydrant, all in accordance
with plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City
Clerk.
Section 2. That there is hereby created and established a Local Improvement
District to be designated Local Improvement District No. 296, which said district
is described as follows:
That portion of Section 7, Township 21 North, Range 5 EWM,
described as follows:
The East 150 feet of the NE.1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4
of the NE 1/4, LESS street.
Tracts A. B, & C, Short Plat No. 7-76 as recorded under
Auditor's File No. 7606220801.
Section 3. That the estimated cost in carrying out the foregoing improve-
ment is hereby declared to be as near as may be, the sum of $31,470.53.
Section 4. Applicable costs and expenses of all engineering, legal,
inspection, advertising, publication and notices, and all other expenses incident
thereto, shall be levied and assessed against all of the property legally and
properly assessable therefor, as provided by the laws of the State of Washington
and the Ordinances of the City of Auburn.
Section 5. That said improvements shall be made by the City of Auburn
under the supervision of the City Council thereof or such committee or person
as the City Council may designate.

Section 6. Assessments or any portion thereof, may be paid at any time
within thirty (30) days from the date of the first publication of the Notice of
Collection of such assessments without penalty, interest or cost, and thereafter
the sum remaining unpaid, if any, may be paid in ten (10) equal annual install-
ments, with interest on the whole unpaid sum at the rate of seven and one-half
percent (7.5%) per annum. Commencing with the first year after the last day,
such assessments, or any portion thereof, may be paid without penalty, interest
or cost (thirty (30) days from the date of the first publication -of the Treasurer's
Notice of Collection of Assessments) and each year thereafter one of said install-
ments, together with the interest due, shall be collected as provided by law and
the Ordinances of the City of Auburn; assessments or installments of assessments
not paid when due shall be delinquent and there shall be added to the same a
penalty of five percent (5%) of the amount of the overdue installments and interest,
and such penalty shall become a part of the lien upon the property assessed.
Section 7. That there is hereby created in the office of the Finance
Director for the City of Auburn, a fund of the City to be known as "Local
Improvement District No. 296 Fund". Warrants shall be drawn on said fund based
on estimates made by the City Engineer and approved by the City Council in
payment of the cost of construction and installation of said improvements.
Section 8. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five
(5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.

of the City of Auburn, a Municipal Corporation and Code City, situate in
the County of King, State of Washington, do hereby certify that the fore-
going is a full, true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 3287 of the
ordinances of the City of Auburn, entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION
OF CURB AND GUTTER, EXCAVATION, BALLASTING, STORM DRAINAGE, ASPHALT
CONCRETE AND SURFACING, 8 INCH CAST IRON WATER MAIN AND FIRE HYDRANT
ON "0" STREET S.E. BETWEEN 29TH & 30TH STREET S.E., WITHIN THE CITY
OF AUBURN: CREATING AND ESTABLISHING LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.
296; PROVIDING THE METHOD OF ASSESSMENT IN SAID DISTRICT AND THE MODE
OF PAYMENT THEREOF, AND CREATING A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT FUND THEREFOR."
I further certify that said Ordinance No. 3287 was duly passed by
the Council and approved by the Mayor of the said City of. Auburn and
published as provided by law in the Auburn Globe News, a weekly newspaper
published in the C'ity of Auburn, and of general circulation therein, on
the 23rd day of June , A.D., 19_78 .
