HomeMy WebLinkAbout405911 ORDINANCE NO. 4 0 6 1 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING 3 SECTION 13.04.280 SERVICE CHARGES --PAYMENT DATES AND SECTION 13.O4.3OO(A) SERVICE CHARGES --PAYMENT DELINQUENCY OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE 4 CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON. 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 7 Section 1. Section 13.04.280 Service Charges --Payment Dates is hereby . amended to read as follows, to -wit: 8 "13.04.280 Service charges --Payment dates. 9; A. Commencing January 1, ((4-3)) 1974., payment for.water service charges 10 shall be due and payable for all classes or services as .follows: 11 12 1. District ((A)) 1, on the tenth day of every other month. 2. District ((B,)) 2, on the twentieth day of every other month. 13 3. District ( (&) ) 3, on the ((thirtieth)) e (( )) tenth day of every other 14 month. 15 4. District ((8)) 4, on the ((fifth)) twentieth day of every other month. 16 5. District 5 on the thirtieth day of every month." 17 18 Section 2. Section 13.O4.3OO(A) Service Charges --Payment Delinquency is 19 hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit: 20 "A. All utility bills are due and payable in the office of the city treasurer within ten days after the billing date appearing on the 21 bill. Twenty-five days after billing date a reminder bill for accounts with outstanding balances will be sent. The reminder will 2 2 notify the customer that service will be subject to shut off without further.notice .if not paid within ten days. Ten days after the 23 notices are sent accounts with outstanding balances will be charged a penalty of five dollars for residential accounts and one and one half 24 percent per month with a minimum of five dollars, for non-residential accounts. Service shall not be restored in the case of water and 25 sewer until full payment of delinquent amount is received, together with ((a-)) ,penalty charges ((of fivedel l a-�) ).. If delinquency 26 payment is not made in time for water personnel to resume service during normal working hours, water service will not be turned on 27. until the next normal working day." 28 Section 3. -The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such admi.nistra- 29 30 tive procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this 31 legislation. ------------------------------ 32 Ordinance No. 4061 Page One of Two 6/7/85 Section 4.
