HomeMy WebLinkAbout43371 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. 4 3 3 7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 9.11 TO AUBURN CITY CODE TITLE 9 ENTITLED "PUBLIC PEACE, MORALS AND WELFARE", TO PROVIDE A NEW OFFENSE OF DISRUPTION OF GOVERNMENT OFFICES. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn desires to add a new Chapter 9.11 to the Auburn City Code entitled "Disruption of Government Offices; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this ordinance is to add a new Chapter 9.11, Sections 9.11.010 through 9.11.030 to Title 9 of the Auburn City Code, defining a new offense entitled "Disruption of Government Offices." Section 2. There is added a new Chapter 9.11 entitled "Disruption of Government Offices", Sections 9.11.010 through 9.11.030, to Title 9, Chapter I entitled "Offenses By Or Against Public Officers And Government" to read as follows: Chapter 9.11 Disruption of Government Offices 9.11.010 Offense. A person is guilty of disruption of government offices if he/she comes into or remains in any government building, office, or public way ------------------- Ordinance No. 4337 Page 1 March 15, 1989 1 2 3 4 5 6 ra 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 adiacent thereto, without lawful reason, and intentionally causes substantial disruption of the activities of a government office. 9.11.020 Definition. As used in this section "government offices" has its ordinary meaning including city, county, state and federal government offices. 9.11.030 Violation - Penalty. Any person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished as provided in Section 1.24.010 of this Code. Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 4.
