AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPROVING A
RECREATION FEE SCHEDULE AND RENTAL CHARGES FOR PROGRAMS AND
FACILITIES PROVIDED BY THE AUBURN PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn must
establish by Ordinance, a fee schedule and rental charges for
programs and facilities provided by the Parks and Recreation
Department;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The attached recreation fee schedule and
rental charges for programs and facilities of the City of
Auburn, Washington is hereby approved.. A copy of said
schedule is attached hereto, denominated as Exhibit "A" and
made a part hereto as though set forth in full herein.
Section 2. Using the attached fee schedule as a guide,
the Parks and Recreation Director may establish fees for
similar classes which may be offered in the future but are not
specifically listed.

Section 3. The attached fee schedule shall become
effective upon the effective date of this Ordinance and will
remain in effect until otherwise amended or repealed by action
of the City Council.
Section 4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.

CITY OF AUBURN
RECREATION FEE SCHEDULE
1989

The information contained herein includes all fees that the City of Auburn charges for its
recreation programs and facilities. It is the policy of the Parks and Recreation Department to
cover most program expenses through fees and charges.
The following explanations will help one understand other facets of the Recreation Fee
Schedule.
Administration Fee An administration fee is assessed to all programs to
reduce expenses related to administration costs.
The administration fee is 35% of expenses for
individual registration and 25% for team
registration. Senior programs, special populations,
and facility rental are not charged an administration
fee.
Non -Resident Fee All non -Auburn residents are charged an additional
fee for program participation. This fee is
established to justify equity for tax paying residents.
The non-resident fee is rounded off to 25% or
$2.00, whichever is greater, over the program fee
for individual program registration. Team
participants pay $5.00 per non-resident on the
roster. Tournaments, open gyms, special
populations, community events and seniors are not
charged a non-resident fee.
Capital Improvement Fee Capital Improvement fees are used for facility
improvements such as lights, restrooms,
scoreboards and athletic facilities. The money
collected is deposited in Fund #321-00-347-310
and is used only for those designated
improvements.
Programs without a Fee Some programs do not have a fee assigned to
them. These programs are available because of
donations from the private sector or they do not
have any costs associated with them.
Recreation Scholarship Fund A Scholarship Fund has been established to give
those with little or no income the opportunity to
participate in recreation programs. The money
from this fund comes from donations from
businesses, service organizations, or private
individuals. Two Parks Department staff members
screen applicants and approve funding.

true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 4348 of the
ordinances of the City of Auburn, entitled "AN ORDINANCE."
I certify that said Ordinance No. 4348 was duly passed
by the Council and approved by the Mayor of the said City of
Auburn, on the the 15th day of May A.D., 1989.
I further certify that said Ordinance No. 4348 was
published as provided by law in the Valley Daily News, a
daily newspaper published in the City of Auburn, and of
general circulation therein, on the 21st day of May, A.D.,
1989.
