AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE
THOUSAND NINETY AND 00/100 DOLLARS, ($1,090), AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT
CONTRACT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT, FOR AN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council of the City of Auburn
must adopt and approve all appropriations by Ordinance
pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City and the Washington State
Department of Community Development entered into a Contract
for $8,760 in grant funds in October, 1989. The Contract
was authorized by Ordinance No. 4372 which was approved by
the City Council on October 2, 1989. The State Department
of Community Development has additional funds available to
the City. This requires amendment of the original grant
contract and approval by Ordinance. Pursuant to Chapter
35A.33 RCW the City hereby approves the Contract Amendment
and the expenditure and appropriation of a total amount of
ONE THOUSAND NINETY DOLLARS ($1,090), pursuant to an amended
Contract between the City of Auburn and the Washington State
Department of Community Development.

Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
Auburn are authorized to execute the Amendment to the
Emergency Management Program (EMP) Contract, Contract Number
1-90-62001, which will provide additional grant funding to
the City of Auburn for use by the City to increase the
operational capability for emergency management. A copy of
the Amendment to the Emergency Management Program Contract
is attached hereto and designated Exhibit A and is
incorporated by reference in this Ordinance.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law. / 9

AMENDMENT 1
The purpose of this amendment is to modify the funding level to
include a one-time allotment from the Assistant Director's Reserve.
Basic Contract - Paragraph 1 is amended to read:
1. FUNDING
The total funds to be reimbursed to the CONTRACTOR for the
contract period shall not exceed $9,120. The funds will be
allotted monthly and will not exceed 1/12 of the total award
or $730 except for a one time allotment of $1,090 which will
be used for the Emergency Management Program (EMP) only.
THIS AMENDMENT SHALL BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ORIGINAL
CONTRACT. EACH AND EVERY PROVISION OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT EXCEPT
AS AMENDED HEREIN SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. THE ABOVE
REFERENCED EXHIBITS ARE AMENDED TO REFLECT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
AMENDMENT AND ARE BY THIS REFERENCE INCORPORATED INTO THIS
CONTRACT.
THE CONTRACTOR HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE
CONDITIONS OF THI AMENDMENT.
