A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING AND APPROVING
THE FUNDING PRIORITY RECOMMENDATIONS FROM
THE HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE, WITH
AMENDMENTS �
WHEREAS, The City of Auburn Human Services Committee provides evaluation
of proposed projects and makes recommendations to the City Council for Human
Services Program grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the Human Services Committee has evaluated its current (past)
Human Services Program funding priorities and has developed recommendations for
new (revised) Human Services Program funding priorities; and
WHEREAS, the past Human Services Program funding priorities consisted of the
following:
1. Child Abuse and Neglect
2. Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
3. Health Care
4. Poverty Reduction/Basic Needs; and
WHEREAS, after consideration of alternatives and options, fhe Human Services
Committee recommends the following Human Services Program funding priorities:
1. Services that address basie and emergency needs, including food, shelter,
health and dental care
2. Programs that prevent homelessness and support housing stability
3. Job training and educational programs that provide economic opportunity for
Auburn residents
4. Programs that promote the wellbeing and safety of individuals and families in
the community
5. Programs that support positive relationships within families, neighborhoods,
and communities; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds the proposed/recommended Human Services
Program funding priorities generally meet the needs of the City, however, additional
focus on some areas of specific community need would be valuable in addressing the
more urgent needs of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C1TY OF AUBURN,
WASFiINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The City of Auburn Human Services Program funding priorities are
approved, to include the following:
1. Services that address basic and emergency needs, including food, shelter,
health and dental care
2. Programs that prevent homelessness and support housing stability
3. Job training and educational programs that provide economic opportunity for
Auburn residents
4. Programs that promote the wellbeing and safety of individuals and families in
the community
5. Programs that support positive relationships within families, neighborhoods,
and communities.
Section 2. The City Council further idenfifies the following to clarify the funding
priorities in Section 1, above:
s Homelessness Prevention and Housing Stability
o Diversion
o Rental Assistance
o Eviction Prevention
o Shelter and Navigation Services
o Domestic Violence Supports
• Food Access
o Emergency Food
o Meal Programs
o Food Delivery
• Healthcare
o Dental
o Mental Health
o Chemical Dependency
o Senior Health Access

Section 3. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such other
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this
legislation.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force upon
passage and signatures hereon.
