An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington related to zoning
adopting the Open Space Zoning Map amendment to the City Zoning Map
Planner Teague provided Council with a presentation on the proposed
changes to the City Zoning Map.
Council discussed which parcels would be included and their intended
uses.
C. Follow up on Identity Theft Questions (Gross) (10 Minutes)
City Attorney Gross provided Council with additional information on
prosecution of Identity Theft.
Council expressed concern on the impact to the City and vulnerable
individuals and requested the statistics for one month on the volume of
cases that the City would be prosecuting if King County declines
prosecution.
Councilmember Wales recessed the meeting at 6:43 p.m. for
approximately ten minutes for a brief intermission.
The meeting was reconvened at 6:53 p.m.
IV. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES DISCUSSION ITEMS
Councilmember Trout -Manuel presided over the Health & Human Services
Special Focus Area items.
A. 2019-2020 Human Services Funding Recommendations (Hinman) (20 Minutes)
Manager Scott and Program Coordinator Pearson provided Council with
a presentation on the 2019-2020 Human Services Funding
Recommendations including; the application submittal and review process,
the number of applications received, total grant funds requested, types of
services provided, funding priorities and funds available by grantor the
General Fund.
Council discussed advertising community events, types of services
funded and the verification process. Council requested
additional information on the total budget for each applicant and the
number of Auburn residents each program serves.
Councilmember Brown thanked Manager Scott and Program
Coordinator Pearson for their hard work and the service they provide to the
community.
V. OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS
Councilmember Trout -Manuel discussed the issues with graffiti in the City,

the possibility of installing a camera on the underpass on M street and
requested this topic be added to the Matrix for further discussion and
assistance.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
There was no new business.
VII. MATRIX
Councilmembers discussed the matrix. Councilmember
Holman requested adding Identity Theft to the October 8, 2018 agenda.
Councilmember DaCorsi requested moving ad hoc Committee Report to
October 29, 2018 Study Session Agenda. Councilmember Trout -Manuel
requested adding a discussion on graffiti to the matrix.
Councilmember Brown discussed items on the next Municipal Services
Special Focus Area proposed agenda and will speak with Mayor Backus
regarding the time allotment for these items.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
