A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF AUBURN AND AUBURN SCHOOL
DISTRICT RELATED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2019, the City of Auburn entered into an Agreement with
Auburn School District No. 408 (School District) for School Resource Officer services to
include three Auburn Police Department Officers to serve as school resource officers as
well as a one-time contribution to the vehicle fleet; and
WHEREAS, the parties would like to amend the agreement to allow the School
District to provide one-time compensation for the purchase of equipment designated for
the School Resource Officer and that will become the property of the City of Auburn.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the
Agreement between the City and Auburn School District No. 408 relating to law
enforcement services, which Amendment will be in substantial conformity with the
Amendment attached as Exhibit A.
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to implement those administrative
procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.

Section 3. This Resolution will take effect and be in full force on passage and
signatures.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
AUBURN AND AUBURN SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 408
RELATING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT (SCHOOL
RESOURCE OFFICER) SERVICES
THIS ADDENDUM is made and entered into on this 2S day of
hitamil- , 2020, by and between the City of Auburn; a municipal
corporation of the State of Washington (the "City"), and Auburn School District No. 408
(the "School District").
RECITALS:
1. The parties entered into an agreement on April 11, 2019, for School Resource
Officer services to include three Auburn Police Department Officers to serve as school
resource officers as well as a one-time contribution to the vehicle fleet.
2. The School District has agreed to provide additional one-time compensation for
the purchase of equipment designated for the School Resource Officer and that will
become the property of the City of Auburn.
2. (A) In the event any of the three Auburn Police Department Officers are no
longer serving as school resource officers, the equipment designated to these positions
would be returned to the Auburn School District.
AGREEMENT:
The following section 4.1A is added to the April 11, 2019, Agreement:
4.1.A. Within thirty (30) days of signing this Agreement the Auburn School District
will compensate the City of Auburn Police Department $133,728 for the purchase of
equipment to be designated for the School Resource Officer and property of the City of
Auburn. The Auburn Police Department will have all rights to own, possess, and use all
equipment assigned to the SRO for any law enforcement purposes.

All other provisions of the April 11, 2019, Agreement shall remain unchanged, and
in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this agreement.
