Old Business:
• Seasonal / Ful Time Position - The cemetery has the seasonal and full time
positions open and it is still in the process to hiring.
New Business:
• Easter Sunrise Service - The cemetery is on track for this event. The Messiah
Lutheran Church reached out to Craig and they are planning on holding the
service again this year. The cemetery will have bleachers, donuts and water for
everyone who is attending.
• Memorial Day Weekend - Craig reached out to the Scouts and confirmed that
pastor Tim Kerekoper will conduct. He also confirmed attendance with Mayor &
City Council, the VFW and Inter -Tribal Warrior Society. Also, the cemetery has
contracted a company in the past for the speaker and sound systems and it has
worked perfect. Chairs, tables and bleachers will be also provided.
• Backflow Checks -The main water valves have to have backflow checks every
year and both of them are old. One of the valves will be replaced this year and
the other one next year. Craig talked to Auburn Mechanical for the replacement
and it will be about $6,000 for parts & labor.
• 2023 / 2024 Budget - Craig is currently working on the 2-year 2023-2024 budget
cycle.
• Pioneer Cemetery Fence -Insurance is taking care of fixing the fence. There are
still problems with parking from the apartment residents. Auburn Sports and
Marines have complained regarding this issue in the past but the city can't tow
cars since it's considered right of way.
• Craig talked to Daryl Faber regarding the discounted rate on graves for Auburn
residents but he explained that since the cemetery is an enterprise fund and not
supported by tax payers that isn't possible.
Reports:
