MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Nancy Backus called the meeting to order at 2:43 p.m. The meeting was
held virtually. Fire Relief and Pension Board Members present included Mayor
Backus, Finance Director Thomas, and Fire Relief Pension retiree Bob Wigley.
Fire Relief and Pension retiree Bill Petersen was excused.
II. VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
The meeting was held virtually and in person
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Minutes of the August 9, 2022 Fire Relief and Pension Board meeting.
Motion by Member Wigley, second by Director Thomas to approve the
August 9, 2022 minutes.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
There was no unfinished business.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Approval of Claims
Motion by Member Wigley, second by Director Thomas to approve the
expenses of the Fire Relief and Pension Fund.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
B. Election for the 2023-2024 Board Member Position
Secretary Campbell explained the process for soliciting nominations for
the 2023-2024 Board Member Position.

VI. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Fire Relief and Pension
Board, the meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.

RE: Fire Relief and Pension Board Representative Election
The Fire Relief and Pension Board Secretary only received one nomination from
Robert Wigley for the 2023-2024 Fire Relief and Pension Boardmember position.
Since there was not a contested race Mr. Wigley is automatically appointed as
the 2023-2024 Fire Relief and Pension Boardmember.
