A. All workmanship and materials shall conform to the City of Auburn 's
requirements and specifications .
B . Standard Specifications shall be 1981 APWR as modified by the Cityy
of Auburn.
C . A copy of these approved plans shall be on-site during construction .
D . Prior to starting construction, the Contractor shall call ONE-CALL
( 1-800-424-5555) for utility locations (water , sanitary sewer , storm
sewer , gas , power , telephone and television) .
E . During construction , contractor shall be required to control on-site
storm water runoff by using temporary erosion/siltation control pro-
cedures . No sediment laden storm water shall be allowed to discharge
into the City of Auburn ' s storm drainage system .
" F . Locations of existing utilities are approximate . It shall be the con-

so as to avoid damage or disturbance during construction .
G. All connections of SOB 35 PVC pipe to manholes shall be made by using
R .C . manhole adaptors , or approved equal .
N. All connections of SDR 21 PVC pipe to manholes and catch basins shall
be made by using CL 150 AC coupling with ring tite x. IPS transition
gaskets , or approved equal .
I . The maximum laying lengths shall not exceed 20 feet for SDR 21 pipe and
12 feet 6 inches for SDR 35 pipe .
J . Bedding for PVC pipe shall be 5/8 inch minus crushe-d rock , 4 inches
under to 6 inches over the pipe.
K. Bedding for concrete and ductile iron pipe shall be 5/8 inch minus
crushed rock , 6 inches uner to 6 inches over the pipe .
L . All pipe trench backfill material shall be Class "A" Bank Run Gravel .
M. Pipe Trench BackPill Material within improved right-of-way shall be
5/8 inch minus crushed rock .
N. Existing pavement surfaces shall be sawcut full depth with straight ,
uniform edges . All joints between the new and original pavement shall
be painted with asphalt emulsion (CSS-1 ) .
0 . Street curbs shall be painted with formula WID-V1 ( yellow) , 5 feet
from each side of all driveways and 15 feet each side of all fire hydrants
_ P. The Contractor shall install , replace , or relocate all signs , as shown
u1 on the plans or as affected by construction , per the City ' s Standard

V Q . Electric and telephone lines shall be in a trench with a minimum hori-
14 zontal separation from other utilities ( sewer , water , storm) of 5 feet .
R . All construction surveying shall be done under the direction of a
Licensed Professional Civil Engineer or Licensed Land Surveyor .
m S. Luminaire poles shall be tapered aluminum, JAVit-style units with a
N nominal length of twelve ( 12) feet , measured from centerline of the
shaft , with a radius of 5 ' 9" with a height of 30 feet within the plat
• N and 35 feet for 21st St . SE . conforming to City Standard Luminaire

_J Z T . Luminaires shall be 100 watt within the Plat conforming to GE#C642N-511
high pressure sodium vapor type or approved equal and shall be 400 watt
y on 21st St . SE . conforming to GE#C646N-934 , high pressure sodium vapor
type or approved equal . Luminaire shall contain an integral high power
factor regular ballast suitable for 240 volt operation conforming to
City Specifications .
Q U. All wiring , connectors and service connections shall conform to City
Standard Details and Specifications and grounding of electrical services
shall conform to the requirements of the latest edition of the National
Electrical Code and all applicable state and local regulations.
V . Channelization and signing shall conform to City Specifications and
Standards and all fabrication of signs shall conform to WSDOT sign fab-
rication Manual and Latest edition of MUTCD (Manual of Uniform Traffic
Control Devices) .
