Funding Opportunities
A rts and E vents S upervisor J ulie K rueger informed the A rts Commission
about a huge new arts funding source through 4Culture called Doors Open.
K rueger explained how only non-profit organizations, and not City arts
programs like our own, are eligible. T he City’s P roject S upport grant
program, was primarily funding these same local non-profit organizations
that now have the option to be supported by this new 4Culture Doors Open
funding. W hat K rueger suggested the Arts Commission consider is to
possibly redirect the 4Culture S ustained S upport funding we receive and
typically pass on through the P roject S upport Grant program, to support
A uburn’s own growing free community arts programming. A fter a short
discussion, staff noted that follow up information would be presented to the
A rts Commission for review, with an agenda item added to the May 2024
meeting for a decision to be made on that subject.
