HomeMy WebLinkAbout5781 (2)RESOLUTION NO. 5781 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH REGION 8 EDUCATION SERVICE CENTER FOR MEMBERSHIP IN "THE INTERLOCAL PURCHASING SYSTEM ("TIPS") FOR THE PURPOSE OF COOPERATIVE PURCHASING WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local governments to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage; and WHEREAS, the Region 8 Education Service Center, a political subdivision pursuant to Texas Education Code 8.009, manages The Interlocal Purchasing System ("TIPS")and is authorized to enter into interlocal agreements with any local government in any state; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn desires to become a member of TIPS to benefit from cooperative purchasing. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into an interlocal agreement with Region 8 Education Service Center to gain membership in TIPS. Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate, enter, and administer agreements and agreement amendments to benefit from cooperative purchasing, and to implement other administrative procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
