A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND ADMINISTER AN
AGREEMENT ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
WASHINGTON STATE TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR THE 49th STREET
ACCESS TO TRANSIT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City desires to improve the safety, capacity, and efficiency of its
street network; and
WHEREAS, the City street construction project known as the "49th Street Access
to Transit" project is included in the City's adopted Transportation Improvement Program
(Project #R-8); and
WHEREAS, to help fund this Project, the City has applied for and been awarded a
competitive Washington State Transportation Improvement Board ("TIB") grant in the
amount of $504,000; and
WHEREAS, the TIB grants require the City to provide matching funds to fully fund
the Projects; and
WHEREAS, the required matching City funds are available in the approved City
budget; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to use grant monies to help finance
the City street improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute and administer the grant
agreement with the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board for the 49th
Street NE Access to Transit Project.
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate, enter, and administer
agreements to spend the grant funds for the Projects, and to implement other
administrative procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force on passage
and signatures.
