Call to Order The Urban Tree Board meeting began at 2:07 pm Attendance: Chairperson Bryce Landrud, Vice-Chairperson Linda Bielejec, Tanya Galat, and Brooksie Hall. Staff members in attendance were Park Planning Manager Thaniel Gouk, and Administrative Assistant Alexa Bragg II. Minutes March minutes were approved III. Correspondence/Public Input IV. Old Business Auburn Magazine article will be shortened and submitted for the next quarter The Tree Board also discussed posting online, and the content could be longer when put on the city’s website V. New Business Chairperson Bryce Landrud brought to the board an idea of teaching pruning classes for industry departments, potentially at Arbor Day and Clean Sweep next year Park Planning Manager Thaniel Gouk talks about a work plan for the Tree Board that was used about 20 years ago and brought this to the board as a suggestion to track projects throughout the year Park Planning Manager Thaniel also discussed having a booth at the events (for next year) and th the pruning class could gather interest at the events (4 of July, Kids Day, Petpalooza, Arbor Day) The board was presented with a slide show of all the previous heritage trees. They went through and discussed the trees, and are going to volunteer to take a photo of trees that were missing a picture on the Heritage Tree Slideshow VI. Board Recommendations/Input Chairperson Bryce Landrud suggested the Apple Tree on F st as a potential 2024 Heritage Tree VII. Department Report NW Corps Group is at Cedar Lanes Park cutting ivy and blackberry plants They are a volunteer group that is working with the city for the next two weeks on cutting ivy and plants from the Cedar Lanes Park VIII.
