APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Approval of October 1st, 2024 Minutes
Commissioners were asked to review minutes from the October 1, 2024 meeting.
Commissioner Harris moved that the minutes be accepted as written. Commissioner
Dwight seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
ACTION ITEMS
A. Postmark Programming Grant Application Review and Funding Awards
Arts Program Supervisor Allison Hyde gave brief background information on the
budgeting history with 4Culture and the overall intention of both City of Auburn grant
Page 4 of 6
programs, the new Artist Project Support Grant and the Postmark Programming Grant.
Hyde explained that the online applications for both opportunities had been posted with
incomplete guidelines, and therefore some applicants that would not typically be
considered due to incomplete applications or incompatible proposals are being
considered.
Hyde gave the Arts Commission an overview of the Postmark Programming Grant
applications for 2025 programs and projects. Commissioners used a scoring rubric to
give scores to each of the applications ahead of the meeting as preparation for
conversation about applicant awards. Arts Manager Julie Krueger took tallies of those
scores throughout the presentation.
Given the results of the scoring and discussion of the merits of each application, it was
determined to award funding to the following applicants under the condition that they
complete the entire scope of work as outlined in their project proposal:
1 . Mateo Acuna - $2,000
2. Kathya Alexander - $500
3. Seattle Opera - $2,000
4. Kiwanis Club - $1,000
5. Pooja Ganesh - $1,000
6. Orcas Microcinema - $2,000
7. Auburn Symphony Orchestra - $2,000
8. Claire Scherzinger - $1,000
9. Fiapia Taito - $2,000
10. Anita White - $1,000
11. Ilana Zacks - $1,000
Vice Chair Olson made a motion to approve the grant funding awards as discussed.
Commissioner Mayfield seconded the motion. The motion passes unanimously.
B. Artist Project Support Grant Application Review and Funding Awards
Arts Program Supervisor Allison Hyde gave the Arts Commission a description of the
Artist Project Support Grant program and presented the applications received for 2025
funding. Commissioners used a scoring rubric to give scores to each of the applications
ahead of the meeting as preparation for conversation about applicant awards. Arts
Manager Julie Krueger took tallies of those scores throughout the presentation.
Given the results of the scoring and discussion of the merits of each application, it was
determined that none of the Artist Project Grant applications were a good fit for 2025
funding, and all grant funds would be allocated to those who applied for the Postmark
Programming Grant.
C. 2025 Arts Commission Chair and Vice Chair Nominations
Vice Chair Tori Olsen was nominated by the commission to serve as Chair.
Commissioner Trisenda Mayfield was nominated by the commission to serve as Vice
Chair.

as nominated. Commissioner Salvador seconded the motion. The motion passed
