A. The public can participate in-person or submit written comments in advance. Participants can submit written comments via mail, fax, or email. She is looking for community feedback for a climate action plan with the City of Auburn. This relates to the City of Auburn's comprehensive plan. This is the climate element of the comprehensive plan. www.speakupauburn.orq has the periodic comprehensive plan update that includes planning for climate change. Goals and policies are apart of this webpage and the updates. Climate action plan survey that City of Auburn has put together is on the website. "Climate Commitment Planning." Open house in council chambers on Feb 19th. There is a citywide mailer or postcard. Very early in the project, says Planner Alyssa Tatra. Public engagement plan regarding climate. Chair Bryce Landrud asks if this is something that is divided up between different departments? Or is it an overarching policy that will affect everyone the same way? Senior Planner Alyssa stated that it is being led by the Planning division but it is a city- wide commitment. Vice Chair Linda stated she would fill out the survey. Alyssa will be sending out the link to the survey. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Guest Krystal Alexander gives the Tree Board that there is a website that you can see the history of trees in the county. Arbor Day 2025 The board agreed to tentatively schedule the City of Auburn Arbor Day to Thursday, April 17th We will check with Park Maintenance Manager Stefanie about what her and her crew are available to do for Arbor Day this year. We will also check with Executive Assistant Tamie Bothell about Mayor availability for Arbor Day 2025. B. Volunteer Opportunities for Board Members Vice-chair Linda Bielejec states that she would be interested in attending if there were more board members. C. Director Daryl Faber's Retirement Party Information ACTION ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES UNFINISHED BUSINESS Vice-Chair Linda Bielejec mentions re-planting the Weeping Willow (COVID-19 Heritage Memorial Tree) at Les Gave in the original spot. Chair Bryce agrees to re-plant this and make it part of the Heritage Trees. A. Dogwood Tree - Set a date for council meeting Administrative Assistant Alexa Bragg will reach out to the Mayor's office about a proclamation for a heritage tree 2025 (along with the Weeping Willow). NEW BUSINESS Chairperson Bryce Landrud gives an overview to the public that attended what the purpose of Tree Board is and a quick history of how it became created. Bryce also speaks about creating a map of all the Heritage Trees that we could potentially give out to participants of the Farmers Market and events and such. Vice-chair Linda talks about the Dogwood on 4th & M St. and how she thinks it might be expanding and falling apart. Bryce says he will reach out to the owner of the tree to talk to her about the Dogwood tree. ADJOURNMENT 2:54pm Adjournment APPROVED this day of 2024.
