ROLL CALL (Mendez) CITY OF AUBURN TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD May 14, 2024 MINUTES Present: Peter Di Turi, Patricia Larson, Derek Ronnfeldt, Michael Harbin, Ajay Ganesan, Tyson Hiffman, Dennis Grad Unexcused absence: Emily Helms, Riley Patterson, Emmanuel Dolo City Staff: Public Works Director Ingrid Gaub, Assistant Director/City Engineer Jacob Sweeting, Senior Traffic Engineer James Webb, Administrative Assistant Molly Mendez and Office Assistant Amy Roberts Outside Presenter: Taylor Whitaker, Fehr and Peers III. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: 1. Public Participation: The Transportation Advisory Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. will be held in person and virtually. Public Comments: This is the place on the agenda where the public is invited to speak to the Transportation Advisory Board on any issue. Public comment is limited to 3 minutes. a. The public can participate in -person or submit written comments in advance. Participants can submit written comments via mail or email. All written comments must be received prior to 3:00 p.m. on the day of the scheduled meeting and must be 350 words or less. IV. ACTION ITEMS A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Boardmember Harbin, seconded by Boardmember Larson that the Committee approve the Transportation Advisory Board minutes for February 13, 2024. Motion carried. V. DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION • Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (Sweeting & Consultant)* Staff and Consultant presentation on the Draft Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. Taylor Whitaker, Senior Transportation Planner with Fehr and Peers presented the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan to the Board. Several questions were asked and answered during the presentation. • Transportation Improvement Plan Annual Update (Webb)* Staff presentation on the Draft 2025/2030 annual update for the Transportation Improvement Plan. James Webb, Senior Traffic Engineer presented the Transportation Improvement Plan Annual Update to the Board. There were no questions. • 2024 Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update (Sweeting)* Staff presentation about the 2024 Comprehensive Transportation Plan update, including review of the full draft plan and public outreach website and discussion with TAB members. Jacob Sweeting, Assistant Director/City Engineer presented the 2024 Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update to the Board. Several questions were asked and answered during the presentation. • Next meeting topics: • Tentative — pending confirmation from transit agencies - Transit update from Metro (safety & I Line) or Sound Transit (Garage and Link Light Rail — Federal Way Extension) Transportation Advisory Board Mav 14, 2024 MINUTES Commute Trip Reduction 5-year Plan Other Discussion Items: Jacob made mention that May is Bike Everywhere month. As part of that, the City is seeking feedback on the bike facilities and bike networks. Jacob Sweeting, James Webb and Veronica Bean will have a location set up at the Interurban Trail, Friday, May 171" from 3 — 5 pm to try to collect information from individuals that use the trail and will also be handing out information and promoting biking in Auburn and around the region. VI. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Transportation Advisory Board, it was moved by Boardmember Larson, seconded by Boardmember Ganesan to adjourn the meeting.
