1 February 1st, 2026 is the Legislative Youth Advisory Council's (LYAC) Action Day at
the Washington State Capitol in Olympia, from 9a-5p. Please notify Melissa and
Keisha if you would like to attend.
2 February 25th is the Mayor's State of the City at the Muckleshoot Convention Center
from 5:30p to 8p. Junior Council will have a reserved table. Please RSVP to Melissa
if you want to attend.

National League of Cities (NLC): Congressional Conference in D.C. is in mid-March,

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF AUBURN JUNIOR CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHING
THE REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE FOR THE JUNIOR CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn Junior City Council was created to provide youth with
opportunities for civic engagement, leadership development, and participation in local
government; and
WHEREAS, establishing a consistent meeting schedule supports the Junior City Council's
ability to conduct business,plan initiatives, and engage with the community; and
WHEREAS, the Junior City Council desires to set a regular meeting schedule that is accessible,
predictable, and aligned with the availability of its members and City facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF AUBURN JUNIOR CITY COUNCIL RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Regular Meeting Schedule.
The Junior City Council shall hold its regular meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday of
each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City of Auburn Council Chambers.
• Holiday adjustment rule: If a regular meeting date falls on a City-recognized holiday, the
meeting shall instead be held on the Thursday of that same week at 7:00 p.m.
Section 2. Location.
All regular meetings shall be held in the City of Auburn Council Chambers unless otherwise
noticed in accordance with applicable public meeting requirements.
Section 3. Special Meetings.
Special meetings may be called as needed in accordance with applicable open meeting laws.
Section 4. Effective Date.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

B. December 17th, 2025 - Mayor's Holiday Open House. Please join the
Mayor for food, festivities, and fun.
C. December 24th, 2025 - No Junior Council Meeting
DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. 2026 Work Plan
Vote and decide who will be on which subcommittee.
Subcommittee assignments will be determined at the next meeting.
B. NLC Congressional Conference
It will occur from mid-March, around the 14th to 17th. Dates not yet finalized
with NLC, subject to change. Up to 4 seniors can attend, do not apply if you
are not sure you can attend.
Discussion about who will attend NLC in March will continue at next meeting.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Approve Minutes from November 12, 2025, Junior Council Meeting.
Chair Muhsen moved to approve the November 12, 2025, meeting minutes; Vice-Chair
Sanotos second motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Muhnse adjourned the meeting at 7:43p.
