CALL TO ORDER
Chair Muhsen called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
A. The Junior City Council Meeting scheduled for Wednesday February 12, 2025 at 7:00
p.m. will be held in person and virtually.

Present: Lawand Muhsen, Rowan Santos, Phia Chea, Prableen Kaur, Lillyann Mertens,
Erica Rios.

Absent: Deputy Mayor Rakes, Caleb Choi, Joey Rush, Mikaela Pedraja, Nnamdi
Ometu, Oliver Nguyen.

A. The public can participate in -person or submit written comments in advance.
Participants can submit written comments via mail, fax, or email. All written comments
must be received prior to 5:00 p.m. on the day before the scheduled meeting and must be
350 words or less.

If an individual requires accommodation to allow for remote oral comment because of a
difficulty attending a meeting of the governing body, the City requests notice of the need
for accommodation by 5:00 p.m. on the day before the scheduled meeting. Participants

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Approve January 22nd, 2025 Minutes.
Approval of January 22nd, 2025 Minutes: Member Muhsen moves to approve minutes;
motion seconded by member Santos — motion passes.
ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS, AND PRESENTATIONS
A. Presentation from Robyn Hinz of NAMI
Robyn Hinz of NAMI was unable to attend the meeting. Presentation rscheduled to
March 12th, 2025 Junior Council Meeting.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Administrative Updates
Lobby Day with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on
February 17th, from 8:30am to 5pm (We will depart City Hall 6:30am, and
plan to return between 6-6:30pm). Please RSVP to Melissa Bailey and
Keisha Taylor.
2 The Mayor's State of the City Address is on February 26th, 2025 at the
Muckleshoot Casino Resort Event Center. Junior Council is invited to the
event. Junior Council attendees will have their own table and will receive
honorable mention. The Junior Council Meeting scheduled for that day
has been canceled. Please RSVP to Melissa Bailey no later than
February 21 st at 5pm.
3 NLC Attendees, please have your release forms signed and returned to
Melissa Bailey no later than March 1 st.
4 Keisha Taylor is in the process of planning Youth Forums. If you would
like to be a part of the planning process, please email Keisha Taylor as
soon as possible.
B. Junior Council Highlights on Social Media
Possibly make a short video to highlight AJCC on Social Media.

Chair Muhsen adjourned the meeting at 7:35pm.
