PUBLIC PARTICIPATION The meeting was held in person and virtually. ROLL CALL Members: Lawand Muhsen, Lanya Muhsen, Hakima Abdikadir, Prableen Kaur, Erica Rios, and Nazli Shamdeen. Staff: Keisha Taylor Absent: Phia Chea, Erica Chen, Mikaela Pedraja, Giovanni Russo, and Rowan Santos. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS There were no modifications to the agenda. PUBLIC COMMENT No one came forward to speak. ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS, AND PRESENTATIONS A. Administrative Updates 1 Mayor's State of the City, February 25, from 5-8pm - Please let Melissa know if you will attend. Junior Council will have a designated table. Council members did not express any interest in attending the event. 2 Educational Advocacy Summit Feb. 20th, 2026 9am-3pm (In -person) or February 21 It, 2026 9am-1 pm (Virtual). Email binelson(@..auburnwa.aov no later than 5pm February 13th if you would like to attend this event. Council member Prableen Kaur expressed interest in attending. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Introduce New Member(s) Chair Lawand Muhsen introduced new council member Layna Muhsen. B. Sub -Committee Updates Sub -Committee leaders were not in attendance, no updates were discussed. C. Council Meeting Updates Keisha Taylor notified council members that a Doodle poll would be sent out, via email, for them to sign up and attend 2026 City Council meetings. D. Updates From Deputy Mayor The deputy mayor was absent. No updates were provided. ACTION ITEMS No action items. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Approve Minutes from the January 28, 2026, Junior Council Meeting Chair Muhsen moved to approve the January 28, 2026, meeting minutes; Vice -Chair Santos second motion passed. ADJOURNMENT Chair Lawand Muhsen adjourned the meeting at 7:15pm. ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS, AND PRESENTATIONS A. Administrative Updates Chair Muhsen read Administrative Updates. B. December 17th, 2025 - Mayor's Holiday Open House. Please join the Mayor for food, festivities, and fun. C. December 24th, 2025 - No Junior Council Meeting DISCUSSION ITEMS A. 2026 Work Plan Vote and decide who will be on which subcommittee. Subcommittee assignments will be determined at the next meeting. B. NLC Congressional Conference It will occur from mid-March, around the 14th to 17th. Dates not yet finalized with NLC, subject to change. Up to 4 seniors can attend, do not apply if you are not sure you can attend. Discussion about who will attend NLC in March will continue at next meeting. ACTION ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Approve Minutes from November 12, 2025, Junior Council Meeting. Chair Muhsen moved to approve the November 12, 2025, meeting minutes; Vice-Chair Sanotos second motion passed. ADJOURNMENT Chair Muhnse adjourned the meeting at 7:43p.
