Auburn is issuing a Notice of Public
Hearing (NOH) for the following

The City of Auburn Planning Division
proposes an update to the Auburn City
Code to regulate the siting, construc-
tion, and operation of Battery Energy
Storage Systems. Battery Energy Stor-
age Systems or "BESS" are arrays of
batteries that store and release electri-
cal energy. BESS ore scalable systems
which can be installed at private resi-
dences, commercial facilities, and as
standalone facilities.The proposed text
amendment will establish thresholds
and land use approval procedures to
ensure the development of these facili-
ties meet the intent and spirit of the
Auburn City Code,while preserving the
life, safety, and wellbeing of Auburn
residents. Location: City-wide. Notice
