MEETING LOCATION: Airport Office Building Conference Room Meeting Attendance Record: Board Members: Andrea Prasse, Chairperson Deanna Clark, Vice Chair Wayne Osborne, Board Member Joe Nessel, Board Member Jay Miner, Board Member Justin Heater, Board Member Chad Ellison, Board Member Ingrid Gaub, Public Works Director Tim Mensonides, Airport Manager Angela Klein, Airport Office Assistant A. CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER: Chairperson Prasse called the meeting to order and welcomed attendees. B. PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were no public comments C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Board Member Osborne to approve the November 15, 2023 Auburn Airport Advisory Board Meeting Page 1 of 4 AUBURN AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES Minutes Vice Chair Clark seconded the motion. Chairperson Prasse abstained MOTION CARRIED, 6-0, 1 Abstention D. PRESENTATIONS: NONE E. BOARD ACTION ITEMS: 1. 2024 BOARD CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR POSITIONS After introduction and brief discussion, a motion was made by Board Member Osborne that Andrea Prasse stay as Board Chair and Deanna Clark be Vice Chair. Board Member Nessel seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, 7-0 F. BOARD DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1. 2024 MARKETING FOCUS Manager Mensonides discussed the growth of Rainier Flight Services at the airport, the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show, website updates to include land for lease, and discussions with a company interested in leasing the south ramp and possibly the empty area east of the airport office building Questions and discussion by the board followed 2. AIRPORT BUDGET Manager Mensonides reported on the 2023 financial performance. Large purchases included a John Deere Gator utility vehicle and significant repairs to hangars with roll-up doors due to the age of the motors. He then discussed budget status, revenue, and upcoming projects to include the 2024 runway and taxiway project, the 2025 AWOS project and 2026 T- hangar door enclosure project. 3. CAPITAL PROJECT STATUS Manager Mensonides shared information on the upcoming runway project, introduced the new airport intern, Adrien Hagele, discussed new community signs planned for the park-n-ride lot at the south end of the runway and answered questions on the runway project He then updated Page 2 of 4 AUBURN AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES the board on the AWOS project, J-row and G-row hangar door replacement and installation, and pavement maintenance 4. TRACKING MATRIX Manager Mensonides shared the current tracking matrix and presented on hangar and mid-field ramp development, marketing focus, airport expansion, west-side analysis, instrument approach, and annual tasks. G. BOARD GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION ITEMS: 1 AIRPORT ADMINISTRATION REPORT Office Assistant Klein reported on current hangar wait list status, hangar and tie-down rentals, fuel sales, the 2023 food drive and holiday party and the 2024 aviation trade show. 2 AIRPORT MAINTENANCE REPORT Manager Mensonides shared Operations Technician Kimes' Certified Member (C M.) achievement, replacement of both fuel hoses, purchase of the Gator, LED upgrades to the airport office building, and plans to upgrade to LED lights in hangars. He also shared there had been discussions with a neighboring business regarding shared fence damage, plans for future upgrades to the fuel tank vent and staff stormwater training. 3 AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT Manager Mensonides reported on the new instrument approach, current land for lease, south ramp development, the 2024 aviation trade show, Scobee approach fixes, bench installation project, mural project, and the upcoming WAMA conference to be held in May at Muckleshoot that will include an Auburn Airport tour. He also shared on upgraded video conferencing, discussed installing an ADSB antenna in the future and a monitor installed in the airport office building lobby showing live traffic. Plans for a new camera showing the airport ramp with a 270-degree view, the installation of a Compass Rose, Auburn Airport Day, derelict aircraft, and a recent meeting with Dr. Mike Jones to discuss the best practices of successful general aviation airports He also shared potential dates for a runway reopening party in June and suggested a tour of the airport in May to replace the May 15th board meeting. SCHEDULE FOR UPCOMING MEETINGS: Regular Meeting Schedule: May 15, 2024 —canceled The Board concurred with cancelation of the May meeting and providing a tour of the construction in place of the meeting for those board members that are interested September 18, 2024 November 20, 2024 I. ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING There being no other business, Board Member Nessel made a motion to adjourn the meeting Board Member Osborne seconded the motion.
