City of Auburn is issuing a Notice of
Application (NOA) for the following Order No: 116226
described project. The permit applica-
tions and listed studies may be Customer No: 184
reviewed at the Auburn Department of
Community Development at One E Main PO#:
St., 2nd Floor, Customer Service
Center, Auburn, WA 98001 and by visit-
ing www.auburnwa.gov/landuse. Pro-
posal: The applicant proposes to estab-
lish a new hair salon inside the existing
detached garage on their residential
property in the R-2 Residential
Low Zone off of M St SE. Parking for
the salon will be accommodated within
the existing driveway. A small business
identification sign will be installed at
the street frontage and at the rear alley
to provide clear wayfinding for cus-
tomers. Only minimal exterior alter-
ations to the existing structures are
proposed. The hair salon will not
require additional public facilities or
services, nor will it negatively impact
existing public infrastructure. The
parcel, structures, and general site uti-
lization will remain largely unchanged.
A hair salon falls under personal ser-
vices shop use category of the Auburn
City Code (ACC) 18.04.710 and requires
a special home occupation permit to
operate as a home occupation per ACC
18.60.040. Location: The site is located
West of M St SE between M and St SE
and South E Main St, addressed as 119
M St, King Co. Parcel No. 5486200055.
