A. The public can participate in-person or submit written comments in advance. Participants can submit written comments via mail, fax, or email. All written comments must be received prior to 5:00 p.m. on the day before the scheduled meeting and must be 350 words or less. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION A. The Arts Commission Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. was held in person and virtually. ROLL CALL Present: Drew Dixon, Patrice Edwards, Dr. Carol Crawford Danner, Amber Lott, Trisenda Mayfield, Tori Olsen, Chad Perkins, Rocky Salvador, Carol Smetheram, Perry Shaw Excused: Kristine De Leon Unexcused: Andrea Dailey Staff: Allison Hyde, Arts Program Supervisor; Amanda Jenkinson, Arts Assistant; Alexandra Mojica, Arts Assistant AGENDA MODIFICATIONS PUBLIC COMMENT A. There were no public comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Approval of April 7, 2026 Minutes Commissioners were asked to review minutes for the April 7, 2026 meeting. Commissioner Rocky Salvador moved that the minutes be accepted as written. Commissioner Perry Shaw seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. ACTION ITEMS A. 2026-27 Sculpture Gallery Alternate Selection Page 4 of 5 Arts Program Supervisor Allison Hyde explained an unforeseen sculpture gallery change after the initial jurying and approval process. Because the accepted piece by Macrae Wylde was is longer available for display, commissioners were asked to vote between two new piece options by artist Macrae Wylde or alternate artist Jennifer Kapnek for one sculpture location downtown. After deliberation from the commission, a new piece by Macrae Wylde was chosen to replace the original piece. Motion to approve this change was made by Commissioner Patrice Edwards, seconded by Commissioner Perry Shaw. Motion passed unanimously. ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS, AND PRESENTATIONS A. 2026 Grant Programs Updates and Commission Reporting Arts program Supervisor Allison Hyde spoke about the abundance of grant programs scheduled for the remainder of 2026, explaining each event. Commissioners were requested to pick grant programs to attend and provide input. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Theater Programming and Updates Hyde explained that with the new Auburn Theater set to be completed in 2027, there is an opportunity for arts grant programming to expand to the theater. Hyde gauged interest in this concept with the commission and answered questions pertaining to this expansion. B. News and Updates Hyde reiterated upcoming grant programs to attend and announced numerous open calls for artists. Commissioner Carol Smetheram shared multiple upcoming Auburn School District performances and shows. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 5:35pm. Page 5 of 5
