RESOLUTION NO. 3 6 1 2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, FIXING 7:30 P.M. ON JUNE 2, 2003, AS THE TIME AND
DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL ON AN
ELECTRICAL FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH PUGET SOUND ENERGY
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3121, adopted on October 4, 1976,
authorized an Electrical Franchise Agreement between the City and Puget
Sound Energy; and
WHEREAS, said Electrical Franchise Agreement was to terminate on
December 31, 2001; and
WHEREAS, said Electrical Franchise Agreement was extended for three
six-month periods by Ordinance Nos. 5620, 5661, and 5721; and
WHEREAS, the six-month extension granted by Ordinance No. 5721 will
terminate on June 28, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Puget Sound Energy desires to enter into an Electrical
Franchise Agreement with the City; and
WHEREAS, negotiations between the City and Puget Sound Energy in
regard to the Electrical Franchise Agreement have been completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this Resolution is for the City
Council to set a time and date for a public hearing on the Electrical Franchise
Agreement with Puget Sound Energy.
Section 2. NOTICE OF HEARING. The Council hereby directs that a
notice specifying the time and place of the public hearing shall be published
one time in a newspaper of general circulation and the notice shall also be
posted in three public places. Such public notice shall precede the public
hearing by at least 10 days.
Section 3. AUTHORITY. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives
of this legislation.
Section 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage
and signatures hereon.
