HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-02-2003 Item III-DWASHINGTON MINUTES CITY OF AUBURN FINANCE COMMITTEE MAY 1% 2003 CALL TO ORDER Chair Fred Poe called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM in the Council Conference Room located on the first floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, Washington. Chair Poe, Vice Chair Jeanne Barber and Member Gene Cerino were present. Staff members present during the meeting were Mayor Peter B. Lewis, City Attorney Daniel B. Heid, Human Resources Director Brenda Heineman, IS Administrator Lorrie Rempher, and Deputy City Clerk Cathy Richardson. Also present were Ms. Nancy Carr -Backus and Mr. Bill Peloza. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Minutes of the May 5, 2003 Finance Committee meeting. Vice Chair Barber moved and Member Cerino seconded to approve the May 5, 2003 minutes. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0. III. CONSENT ITEMS A. Vouchers 1. Claims F4.9.5 Claims check numbers 320608 through 320982 in the amount of $1,655,533.46 and dated May 19, 2003. 2. Payroll F4.9.2 Payroll check numbers 504147 to 504307 in the amount of $507,223.34 and electronic deposit transmissions in the amount of $842,733.42 for a grand total of $1,412,956.76 for the pay period covering May 1, 2003 to May 14, 2003. Vice Chair Barber moved and Member Cerino seconded to approve the consent items. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0. IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS A. Ordinance No. 5757 A3.11.1.5 An Ordinance of the City of Auburn, Washington, amending Chapter 2.90 of the Auburn City Code relating to indemnification for city officials, city employees and city volunteers. Vice Chair Barber moved and Member Cerino seconded to recommend approval of Ordinance No. 5757. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0. B. Ordinance No. 5761 A4.5.1 An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, creating a new Section 2.03.100 of the Auburn City Code, relating to Duties of the Mayor. Page 2 Finance Committee Minutes May 19, 2003 Vice Chair Barber moved and Member Cerino seconded to recommend approval of Ordinance No. 5761. Vice Chair Barber spoke in favor of Ordinance No. 5761. City Attorney Heid stated that Ordinance No. 5761 provides for those instances where a resolution is required to set a public hearing and clarifies the processes for setting agendas and public hearings. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0. V. DISCUSSION ITEMS There were no discussion items. VI. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting adjourned at 6:48 PM.
