City Council grant permission to advertise for bids for Project No. C304A, K Street sE Storm
Improvements.
Background Summary:
The purpose of this project is to eliminate the existing ongoing flooding located along 'K' Street SE near
the entrance to Olympic Middle School. Excess surface water flows, incapable of flowing northerly
through the undersized conveyance system, cause localized flooding, which disrupts traffic and school
operations. This project will construct a new 18-inch storm line from 18th Street SE to 21st Street SE,
allowing the conveyance of the sub-basin area of 30 acres to the 21st Street SE trunk line.
The project is anticipated to begin construction in early August and be completed by the end of
September.
A project budget contingency of $4,580 remains in the 430 (Storm) Fund.
