City Council to grant permission to advertise for bids for Project No. C302A, West Valley Highway
Reconstruction Proiect.
Background Summary:
This phase of the West Valley Highway Reconstruction Project includes the reconstruction of West Valley
Highway from the intersection with Peasely Canyon Road sou-th to 15th Street SW (+2,500 feet), overlay
improvements from 15th Street SW south to the City limits (+800 feet), and a signal interconnect between
Peasley Canyon Road and 15th Street SW.
It is anticipated that construction will begin in early September with completion by late October. The total
project cost for Phase 1, the roadway improvements, is estimated to be $979,000.
Phase 2, the pedestrian facilities, is planned for construction in the summer of 2004.
There is a 2003 budget contingency of $7,000 remaining in the 102 Arterial Street Fund.
