Attached is Ordinance No. 5774, finalizing the annexation of Thuline/Pinnacle Properties. The annexation
will become effective at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2003.
On July 17, 2002 the City received a request from the Thuline family/Pinnacle Properties to commence
annexation proceedings for their property, located to the east of Lakeland Hills South in Pierce County.
The Thuline property is approximately 30.69 acres and is assessed at $361,200. The eventual proposal
for the site is development to single-family residential (R1) standards.
The City Council adopted Resolution 3514(re-corrected) in December, 2002, and the Notice of Intent to
Annex by Election was submitted to the Pierce County Boundary Review Board. A motion to annex was
placed before the voters in the area on May 20, 2003.
The Pierce County Election Canvassing Board provided a Certificate Election to the City of Auburn on
May 28, 2003, stating that the motion to annex had been approved. Therefore, the City of Auburn may
now act to finalize the annexation and amend its boundaries.
