HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem V-D-1WASHINGTON AGENDA BILL APPROVAL FORM Agenda Subiect Date: Change Order #68 to Contract 99-01 July 15, 2003 Department: Attachments: Budget Impact: Public Works Budget Status Sheet & Map $ 0 Administrative Recommendation: City Council approve Change Order #68 in the amount of $105,954 to Contract 99-01 with Robison Construction Inc. for work on project PR529, 3rd Street SW Grade Separation Project. Background Summary: The purpose of this project is to realign the westbound ramps from SR 15 to intersect with the existing 3rd Street/'C' Street SW intersection and grade separate 3rd Street SW from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway line. Construction of the project includes the following: Widening of both 3rd Street SW and 'C' Street SW to 4 lane facilities with turn lanes as necessary. 5 new bridge structures and associated fill/wall sections to elevate 3rd Street SW. Relocation and improvement of City utilities for Storm, Water and Sanitary Sewer. Undergrounding of Puget Sound Energy's power facilities and relocation of private utilities. Change Order #68 is additional cost for five items of work including the following; replacement of a pedestrian push button damaged by normal vehicular traffic, modification to the traffic barriers on 3rd Street to meet final wall grades, repair of sewer pipe between A Street SW and Division, repair and upsizing of the sewer service line for the Short Stop, and settlement of the temporary re-alignment of C Street SW during construction. Per the current policies on staff authority for construction contract contingency this Change Order exceeds the authorized contingency. There is one remaining outstanding item that Staff is currently working towards resolution with the Contractor. A project budget contingency of $168,458.00 remains in the 102 Street fund.
