Administrative Recommendation:
City Council authorize the Mayor to award Contract 03-08, Project No. C302A, West Valley Highway
Reconstruction, to the lowest responsible bidder.
Background Summary:
This phase of the West Valley Highway Reconstruction Project includes the reconstruction and overlay of
West Valley Highway from the intersection with Peasely Canyon Road south to 15th Street SW (±2,500
feet), overlay improvements from 15th Street SW south to the City limits (h±800 feet), and installation of
signal interconnect infrastructure between Peasley Canyon Road and 15t Street SW. Estimated
construction costs for this project are $820,000, and an estimated construction time frame of 5 weeks is
necessary.
In order to gain a time advantage for construction this year, authorization for the Mayor to award Contract
03-08 for the West Valley Highway project is needed.
