Back,qround Summary: Ordinance No. 5789 amends Auburn City Code 13.06.360 pertaining to Auburn water rates. On June 17, 2002, the City entered into an interim water sales agreement with Covington Water District and Water District No. 111. The agreement contained a provision for "Take or Pay" monthly rates which increased annually. The rate increases are scheduled to occur January 1, 2004, and January 1, 2005. This ordinance amends City Code to reflect the revised rates. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this amendment is to incorporate a change in the rate for UTake or Pay" water rates for 2004 and 2005 pursuant to the contract approved by Resolution No. 3482. Section 2. AMENDMENT TO WATER RATES That Section 13.06.360 of the Auburn City Code, relating to the City's water rates, is amended to read as follows: 13.06.360 Rates - Generally. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 4. GENERAL SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. Section 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effective five (5) days from and after its passage, approval, and publication, as provided by law..
