City Council award the bid for Parks Small Works Project No. C317C to Icon Materials on their low bid of
$21,596.80.
Background Summary:
The City and the Parks and Recreation Department are currently working in conjunction with the Auburn
Little League, using money awarded from a King County Youth Sports Facility Grant, to up -date the
current youth ball field at GSA Park and to build the new one.
Power lines were installed underground as part of Phase 1 construction. We are now ready to prepare
the additional field and to fence and asphalt the necessary areas. The major items of work to be
performed include the construction of a field access road and pathway within the GSA Park facility. The
work includes removal of existing asphalt, installation of new asphalt paving of approximately 23,500
square feet of 2 -inch type -B asphalt.
Requests for bids were sent to our Small Works Roster contractors and the apparent low bid was Icon
Materials with a bid of $21,596.80. Staff has checked references and is confident that this company will
do the work needed, and request that Council consent to award Parks Small Works Project No. C317C to
Icon Materials, Inc..
