Background Summary:
Resolution No. 3721 authorizes the Mayor to execute a Local Agency Supplement between the City and
the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) for additional Federal Railway/Highway
Crossing program funds for Project No. C1017, West Main & UPRR Crossing Improvements.
On December 17, 2001, City Council adopted Ordinance No. 5613, which authorized appropriation and
expenditure of $250,000 in Federal funds for Project No. C1017, and authorized the Mayor and City Clerk
to execute a Local Agency Agreement and supplemental agreements to obligate those funds for the
project.
Recently, WSDOT approved additional funds in the amount of $32,051 for Project No. C1017. Resolution
No. 3721 authorizes the Mayor to execute a Local Agency Agreement Supplement approving use of the
construction funds previously approved by Ordinance No. 5613, along with the additional $32,051. With
this supplement, Federal funds for the project total $282,051. City matching funds from the 102 Street
Fund for administrative work is $4,525.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT SUPPLEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE WASHINGTON STATE
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ADDITIONAL
FEDERAL RAILWAY/HIGHWAY CROSSING PROGRAM FUNDS
FOR PROJECT NO. C1017, WEST MAIN & UPRR CROSSING
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5613 authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to
execute a Local Agency Agreement and Project Prospectus for the
appropriation and expenditure of Federal funds for Project No. C1017, West
Main & UPRR Crossing Improvements in the amount of $250,000; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation has
approved additional Federal funds from the Railway/Highway Crossing Program
in the amount of $32,051 for this project; and
WHEREAS, the existing Local Agency Agreement must be supplemented
to obligate this additional funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Local
Agency Agreement Supplement between the City and the Washington State
Department of Transportation, in substantial conformity with the agreement

attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "1" and incorporated herein by this
reference.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of
this legislation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
