In early April 2004 the City began working on a Marketing and Gateway project with a consultant team
and stakeholder group represented by the school district, small and large businesses, residents, City
staff, the Auburn Arts Commission, the Auburn Downtown Association, Auburn Service Clubs and the
Chamber of Commerce. As a result of this project, the tagline "Auburn More Than You Imagined" a new
City logo were adopted. The City of Auburn Gateway Program is the last component of the Marketing
project.
The stakeholder group has met several times to provide input and recommendations about gateway
designs and staff continued to work with the consultant on finalizing the recommendations for designs.
On May 25, 2004 the stakeholder group reviewed the unveiling of the proposed final design
recommendations. The meeting was well attended and the participants unanimously approved the
proposed City of Auburn Gateway Program designs.
