Administrative Recommendation:
City Council award Contract 04-06, Project No. C320A, West Beverly (Jomada Park), to T.S. Sahli, for
their low bid of $165,397.00 plus Washington State sales tax of $14,554.94 for a total contract price of
$179,958.46.
Background Summary:
In late 1997, 1.89 acres of the West Bevedy development was dedicated as a future park site. The
development is now substantially complete and features 130 lots. The single-family development
contains no neighborhood parks.
In 2003, a $200,000 park improvement was approved in the budgeting process. Additionally„ we received
$15,000 from storm water to cover a stone -water vault located on the site. To date, $15,000 was spent to
have John Barker Architects work with the neighborhood homeowner's association to design a park for
this site. The project was identified in the 2003 budget (and rolled into the 2004 budget) as account
number 328-00-594-762-63.
Staff seeks approval to award the contract to complete this project.
