Background Summary:
In 1997 1.89 acres of the West Beverly #4 development was dedicated as a future park site. In 2003,
Council approved a park improvement to construct the park at the 1440 “U” Court Northwest site. An
RFP was issued for an architect to work with the neighbors of that area and a plan was designed for the
site. During this process the local homeowner’s association came to the March, 2004, Auburn Parks and
Recreation Board meeting with the proposal to name the park “Jornada Park” after the development. The
Board agreed to forward this request.
As we are now in the construction phase of the development, we are asking that this site be named as
requested by the local home owners.
