City Council to grant permission to advertise for bids for Project No. C308A, Sidewalk Improvement
Project.
Background Summary:
The purpose of this project is to repair or replace broken sidewalk that could be considered a safety
hazard. Construction shall occur at various locations throughout the downtown area (see attached
vicinity map).
This project will only include the sidewalks that have excessive cracking or deterioration caused within the
City of Auburn's right-of-way only. Repair of damaged sidewalks caused by trees on private property is
not included in this project at this time. A policy for addressing damage done by private facilities will need
to be developed.
The project is anticipated to begin construction in December 2004 and carry into early 2005. Estimated
project costs total $130,169. A project budget contingency of $103,093 remains in the 102 Street Fund
for 2004.
