City Council grant permission to advertise for bids for Project No. C326B, 'c' Street SW Roadway
Improvement Project, Contract B.
Backqround Summary:
C Street SW between Ellingson Road and 15th Street SW is currently configured with a single lane in
each direction, with left turn pockets providing turning movements to adjacent commercial and light
industrial areas. In order to meet current and future traffic needs, the 8,700-foot-long roadway must be
widened to provide two lanes of travel in the southbound direction, one in the northbound direction, one
continuous northbound left turn lane, and two signalized intersections at major commercial property
access locations. This work is being completed in two construction contracts. Contract A, for the
southern 3,500 feet, has been awarded to R.W. Scott, with an anticipated start date of
November 29, 2004.
Project No. C326B, Contract B, is for the northern 5,200 feet and is anticipated that construction will begin
in early February 2005 with completion by July 2005. The total cost for Contract B is estimated to be
$2,365,000.
